Lost in Space

Good Afternoon (PST); newbie, here. Thought I'd give this community a try. Born in 1955, watched LIS premier in '65. Never had a chance to meet any LIS cast/staff in person, but I did, at my very first SF Con (Jan.'77) during their banquet, sit at the table of Bill (now 'William') Malone, the then owner of Robby The Robot (also in attendance at this fete were Grace Lee Whitney, George Takei, David Gerrold, Harlan Ellison - and Robert & Virginia Heinlein. Lucky strike for a newbie fan's first time out).

I realize this may have been posted/dealt with/answered already in an earlier post here, but if you'll indulge me, I'd like as my first entry, to ask this question, if anyone might possibly know: There had (so rumor says) been a project in the works back in 2002, purportedly titled Lost In Space: The Journey Home, which was to have starred the remaining original cast members, but as I understand it, the sudden passing of Jonathan Harris later that year ended that hope. If it were true that a reunion/update movie had been planned, was there ever some manner of treatment/script completed for it? What was the general plotline, and I suppose, the one issue probably nagging fans everywhere, how would the absence of Guy Williams have been dealt with?

Again, I realize this may be utterly Jurrasic news by now, but I've been out of the loop for a while, so I'm just throwing it out there.

Thank you all for your indulgence and/or sufferance.

There's not much more that I can add to what I've entered, already. Reports state the project was in 'pre-production' which can be a very nebulous term, when Jonathan Harris passed away, sealing the movie's fate. Sorry.
